Medical review policy

SurgicalEyes publishes general health information. It is not medical advice, and it is not a substitute for a consultation with a licensed doctor who can examine you.

General information, not medical advice

Every guide on this site describes treatments and conditions in general terms. We do not know your medical history, medicines, allergies or goals, and we cannot examine you. Nothing on this site should be used to diagnose a condition, to choose a treatment for yourself, or to delay seeing a doctor. If you think you have a medical emergency, call your local emergency number. In Thailand, call 1669.

How guides are written

Guides are written and edited by the SurgicalEyes editorial team. When we prepare a guide, we aim to:

How guides are checked

Before publication, guides are checked against their sources by the editorial team. Where a guide covers a procedure or medicine, we look for agreement with current professional guidance. We do not publish the names of individual reviewers. Guides on this site have not been individually approved by a doctor treating you, and they cannot replace that advice.

Updates and corrections

Medicine changes, and Thai rules on licensing, products and visas change too. We review guides periodically and show the date of the last update at the end of each page. If you think something is wrong or out of date, you can tell us through our contact form.

We do not link to individual clinics, hospitals or products, and we do not rank them. When a guide describes a kind of provider, the aim is to help you know what to check. Always run your own checks, as described in choosing a clinic in Thailand.

What we do not cover

SurgicalEyes does not cover eye surgery or vision correction. We do not publish before-and-after photos or patient testimonials.
