About SurgicalEyes

SurgicalEyes helps English-speaking readers understand treatments offered in Thailand before they speak to a doctor.

General information, not medical advice. This guide explains treatments in general terms. It cannot tell you whether a treatment is right or safe for you. Discuss your health, medicines and expectations with a licensed doctor before any procedure. Read our medical review policy.

What we publish

Plain-English guides to treatments commonly offered by Thai clinics and hospitals: injectables and thread lifts, liposuction and body contouring, physiotherapy for office syndrome, headache care, skin and hair concerns, and practical planning for people travelling for treatment.

Each guide explains what a treatment involves, what recovery looks like, what can go wrong and what to ask. We also explain how to check doctors, clinics and products with Thai authorities.

Who writes the guides

Guides are written and edited by the SurgicalEyes editorial team. We are not a clinic, we do not provide treatment, and we do not book appointments. Read how we prepare and check content in our medical review policy.

SurgicalEyes does not link to clinics, surgeons or products, does not run advertising and is not paid by any clinic or hospital. When we mention a type of clinic or a regulator, it is so you know what to look for, not a referral.

The name

The name refers to looking carefully at surgery and treatment before you commit. Despite it, we do not cover eye surgery or vision correction.
